Predominantly Blue and Silver Polishing

Happy Labor Day, everyone! Today we visited Fort Pickens in Pensacola. But I will share pictures with you on Saturday.
I have just a little post for today and it's even a little late. We just got home a few hours ago and I haven't even unloaded the car, well I did unload just a few things. One of them was a bag containing the silver items I am sharing for Met. Monday below.
But first let me join Sally for Blue Monday at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com/.

For my blue entry today, I am sharing with you a picture of AJ taken at Disney World. Look at the blues in this picture, AJ's blue shorts and top, blue shoes, the blue sky, the blue flowers, blue letterings on "OCEANS" and blue pots. Some people in the background are wearing blue too.

Just as I said earlier, I am also joining Susan for Metamorphosis Monday at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/
I would lke to thank our gracious hostesses for hosting these fun events.
On our way to Pensacola, we stopped by an antique shop and I saw these silver plated coffee pots, creamer and sugar servers and a candy dish. They were really marked down and really tarnished. But for a price like $2 each for the sugar and creamer and $8 each for the coffee pots, I thought I'd take a chance and I bought them. They are really heavy with no dings and I knew I could polish them and then sell them at the store. Well, when we got home, before I even unpacked, I took them out because I was anxious to see if they will polish well. And they sure did! It did not even take a lot of rubbing.

Below is the "Before" picture. They look like copper, don't they?

This is after I polished some of them. I left the pot on the right unpolished for comparison.

The are actually more clean and polished in person. It's just hard to take a picture of the actual look because the brown kitchen cabinets are being reflected on them. Do you think they will sell? It does not really matter because I like them and if they do not sell, I get to keep them, lol.

This must be my shortest blog, lol! I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for coming and I hope you visit our hostesses and their other participants too.

Pretty picture with all the blues. You really got a great deal on the silver, and I doubt you will have a problem selling them.
Have a great day.

Christine,
I love your silver!! Can I ask you what you use to polish them? I am always looking for something that is a bit easier!

I'm sure they will sell. I am amazed at the bargains one can still get on silver pieces. I would set them up at the shop in a tablescape...maybe you will sell the whole thing at once!

PAINTORDIG.blogspot.com said...

Good deal on the silver. Sue is right, you should do tablescapes in your store- you are so good at it and let's face it some people don't have any imagination for things like that. I bet you would sell a lot if it was displayed in one of your beautiful tablescapes.
