Sightseeing and Antiquiing in Seattle with Vanna!

I am so excited to post today for Sightseeing Saturday, Beverly's Pink Saturday at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/
and Laurie's A Few of My Favorite Things at http://bargainhuntingwithlaurie.blogspot.com/ for today, I get to show you one of my most favorite and exciting trips. I am also linking with Scenic Sunday at http://scenicsunday.blogspot.com/. John and I went to Seattle for a business with pleasure trip (Business for him and pleasure for me!) this past week and we got to meet a good friend of mine who I have chattted and got acquainted with on line for the last 3 years. Finally, I got to meet her face to face. Isn't that so exciting?

And of course everybody here knows the famous lover of antiques,Vanna of http://lvroftiques.blogspot.com/ . If you have not visited her blog, you are missing a lot so you better hop and go see her as soon as you can.

Vanna and her dh Michael met us at Sheraton hotel where we were staying downtown and had coffee there, as we chatted non stop while we waited for the stores to open.

Then we drove to an antique store after promising John to pick him up at noon when his meeting is over.

I thought this picture is so cool. Here you can see Vanna taking a picture of the pretty screen and boy statue. But do you see me in the mirror taking a picture of her?

Isn't Vanna just lovely?
She looks exactly as I envisioned her, so sophisticated and classy.

I don't think we missed seeing any of the booths in the store for it took us more than 4 hours shopping, while keeping John waiting. We did not go back to pick him up until after 2:30 PM. Yep, we were only more than 2 hours late, lol. But can you blame us? We were having so much fun. I knew he would understand.

Isn't this frog the cutest little, actually big thing? I thought I found my Prince charming! I love his crown. I also fell in love with these 2 chairs and I wanted to take the bust home but as you know, luggage room and weight is very limited when you are flying, so they all had to stay. We really had so much fun, trying not to outdo each other in our total purchase so we stayed pretty close. You should check out the awesome items that Vanna purchased. I hope she posts them too.
This is the first time I have seen a bridal dome in person such as this, which was actually introduced to me for the first time on Vanna's blog a few weeks ago.

I wanted all these religious items. If only they would fit in my little niche.

What about this mirror? Isn't it gorgeous?

This photo is for those who collect white ironstone. I know there are a lot of you around.

There were so many lovely things and so many that we wanted to buy. I had to control myself.
After we picked up John, we went to the Sony store and then stopped to see this Fremont troll. Also called Troll Under the Bridge, it is a mixed media colossal statue. He is clutching an actual Volkswagen Beetle with a California tag, which he swiped from the road above.
And look! There is sun in Seattle! We were so lucky to have a good weather while we were there. But as you can see, I was ready for a cold weather.
After driving around, Vanna and Michael took us to the Space Needle where we had a dinner reservation at 5. OMG! You should have been up on the observation deck. The view was truly spectacular! Built in 1962, it is 605 feet tall and 138 ft. wide. It can withstand an earthquake of up to 9.1 in magnitude.
We all had smiling faces.

I took a lot of pictures from the observation deck. The site was breathtaking no matter which side you were on. Here is a view showing Mt. Rainier.

As you can see, the sky was pink when we got there.

The view is just spectacular! The weather was perfect and the food was delicious too. Sorry, I forgot to load pictures of the food.

The sky turned an intense orange in color. It was so beautiful!
The best table in the restaurant and it was ours, right where the sunset was showing, cause even though the restaurant rotated, the sunset would have been gone if we were seated somewhere else.

I just could not get over looking at this breathtaking sunset. Vanna and Michael couldn't have picked a better place to eat. And as if the evening was not perfect yet, this amazing full moon just suddenly popped out.
We were all the way to the top in the rotating restaurant and yet because of the good visibility, we could see all the way down to the streets.

Thank you so much, Michael and Vanna for the perfect day and evening.

But before I sign off, let me show you the linens that I bought from the antique shop. I bought other things too but I have not taken their pictures yet. I am still unpacking, lol.

I bought these beautiful vintage linens, a square Navy Army tablecloth complete with 12 matching napkins. I rarely see a square tablecloth this big. I plan to use it as a topper for our round kitchen table for a special occasion. I also bought a set of 6 pretty Battenburg lace napkins and a table runner with yellow and lilac embroideries.

Here's a close up showing the details of the embroideries.

Thank you very much for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed both our sightseeing and shopping tour for today and meeting my very good blogging friend, Vanna and her charming hubby.
Thanks to our hosts. Don't forget to visit them.

Your John is a very good sport when understanding how time got away from you and you were 2 hours late meeting him! LOL

What a beautiful view. I have to admit I would have a hard time enjoying a meal up there - I have issues with height. :D Thanks for sharing your trip with us.

P.S. Oh, and your husband is a saint, if he waited for you for over two hours. If that would have been me, I would NOT have spoken to you for the rest of the day! LOL!
