Pink Flowered Tea set and Brookhaven Events

It's Saturday again so it's time to go on another trip.

My pink contribution is this tea or coffee set, I won it on Ebay. It's Bavarian in Winterling pattern. I just love those pink flowers!

And now, let's go on a

tour. We are going on a nearby city, Brookhaven.

They had a craft sale about month or 2 ago,




All we bought was a wo0den bird house from the store below.

Last weekend was another event. They had an antique estate auction in the biggest mansion there.

It was cold! We had a freeze for the first time this season. Isn't the fog beautiful?








These are just houses that we passed by on our way to Brookhaven.?


This i s the house where all the antique furniture came from. The owner is not gone yet but he auctioned the furniture to raise money so he can fix the house.




I love the conservatory.

I think this is one of the most beautiful antiques that I have ever seen. It even has a Sevres medallion in the front. It is so gorgeous, the picture does not do it justice. I would have loved to bid on it but bidding just kept going higher and higher in the thousands.

That clock is musical also and it went up really high too.




I could not believe all the antiques this guy had and most of them were in excellent shape.



I wanted these 2 end tables for our grandkids guest room but we stopped bidding after a certain amount.

The auction was only starting when hubby handed me our numbered card while he went to buy a hot chocolate for mama. He shouldn't have left me because this parlor set came out for bidding and I started bidding on it. Luckily, the bidders were not hot yet so the price did not go up too high or I would have stopped bidding. I won it! Was John surprised when he got back and I told him I already won a furniture set, lol!

We did not get anything else except for a Tiffany signed opal ring with small diamonds which we paid slightly more than what we paid for the parlor set.

There were so many beautiful beds.

John placed a bid on this set but stopped at $1400. I can't remember how much higher it went. The set is really pretty and it has inlaid Mother of pearls on the wood. The color is really pretty too.

There were quite a lot of bidders there. We left early because we saw one of John's patients there and he offered to help us haul the furniture in his van and he had to leave early.

So many guns and so many gun entusiasts there cause they were going so high.

This was my favorite. I have never seen so much Wedgwood jasperware in one place in the same pattern and color. Truly exquisite! There were over 320 pieces. John asked me if I wanted them and if I wanted him to bid but I could not see spending over $4000 for a set of dishes. Besides, where would I store them? So, I said "No!". The table sits 22 And people were bidding on it. They must all have big dining rooms because this is a palace size set.

Vintage Coca Cola Garden Tablescape

I don't know why but after I moved this table from the kitchen breakfast nook to the back porch, I got inspired into creating a vintage garden tablescape. Of course, the 71 degree sunny weather had a big part in it too.

I bought the wooden coca cola crate from one of the vendors in the store. I also bought the bunny planter from another vendor.

Just ignore the "Skinny Dipping Allowed" sign. It does not sound very vintage, does it? LOL! I still have to work on this wall.

A few months ago, we ate at a Japanese restaurant in Baton Rouge and they served us diet coke in little coke bottles. After we were done, I asked what they did with the empty bottles afterwards and the waiter said they just throw them away. I asked if I could have our empty bottles and he gave them to me. I thought I could use them for a vase on a vintage tablescape and I did just that. I just cut up some fresh red flowers from my plant and there they are!




Myvintage tin bowl and lidded soup bowls came from a Pottery Barn in Florida. They reminded me of the plates used by our maids in the Philippines. I have had the white plate chargers with blue rims. They are ceramic. or ironstone.

I bought 2 chicken wire plate chargers from Pottery Barn in Dallas. I wish now that I bought at least 4.

When I bought this crate, I was planning to use it to plant herbs in the spring but I thought it made a ncie centerpiece so I'll just keep it on one of the outdoor tables.
The herbs in terracotta pots are lemon thyme and they smell so good.

I lit the candles when it got dark. Isn't that a pretty glow?
I bought my Coca cola glasses from the dollar store a while back.

Oh look! John is in the office. Can you see him? I think I need a hanging lamp in the corner above the fountain so it can be seen at night. Actually, I have an electric lantern there but I forgot to turn it on.

I love that terracotta bunny planter. I am so glad I bought it.

Bunny napkin rings..... I should have titled this post "Coke and Bunnies", LOL!

How do you like my canned diet coke in a cloche? Original huh? The ceramic bird is keeping it company.

Playing Musical Tables

I have been moving furniture around, mostly tables. Oooh, my back is sore:-(

Most of you have seen this game table in the family room before.

I moved it to the breakfast room in the kitchen.

There it is!

But before I could do that, I had to move this kitchen table somewhere.

It went out on the back porch. I hope it does not get ruined out here. I plan to cover it when it gets cold. It does not really get that cold here.

I moved it next to the kitchen window, right outside the sliding door. There was a cooler there which I moved to the garage since we won't be needing it until next spring or summer.

I did not move the bench outside with the kitchen table. Instead, I moved it next to the sliding door to hold some plants. We had a freeze a few nights ago and I brought the plants in. Now, the weather's been in the 60's and 70's but I think I will just keep the plants in because some of them are very heavy. Our house looks like a jungle now, lol.

And this parlor set took the place of the game table.

Lots of moving around but I am happy with the results. What do you all think?

We won this parlor set at an estate auction last Saturday. It's an 1860 Victorian rococo. I have always wanted a sitting area in front of this fireplace in the family room but I did not want anything heavy since we already have heavy leather furniture on the other side where the TV is.

A New Room for Tea

Hi all! Last week, my mom was in the hospital so I wasn't able to join the Tuesday memes that I usually attend. I am happy to say that my mom is doing very well and I want to again thank everybody who prayed for her.

Well, I am not going to miss these fun parties today. My setting is in our family room. Do you recognize it? It's been changed. This area used to house our game table but I have switched everything around (next post for Kim's A + B party and Met Mon)). I have always wanted a sitting area in front of this fireplace and I finally got my wish after I won this antique Victorian Rococo (also known as late Baroque) parlor set at an antique estate auction in Brookhaven last Saturday. I will show more of that this coming Sightseeing Saturday.

Last Sunday, antiques row downtown had an open house. I met some regular customers while I was at my shop dropping off some items and they were telling me how they like to come regularly because I always bring in some pretty stuff. That was really nice to hear. I brought a blue mirrorred tray and it sold right away. I sold the napkin rings from my turkey tablescape too so I will have to go back to replace them. Later on, John and I strolled through the other antique shops.

I spotted this tea set as soon as we entered into one. When I saw the price ($25 for the set), I knew it was meant for me.

Isn't it pretty? I love the colors and the pattern. The pieces are all hand painted and manufactured by Lefton China. These are probably one of my favorite finds.

I would have paid way over $25 for them.

I just searched on Google and found a set that looks just like it for $150.00.

Now I really wouldn't mind paying for $115 for Bill's glasses if I win his auction, since I got such a good deal on the teaset and especially because it is for a good cause.

The tea cup and saucer did not come with the teapot set. It belongs with my Tirschenreuth tea set but I thought I'd use them with this because of the pink flowers.

The 3 piece parlor set is from 1860.

Do you see the pretty jug on the left side of the fireplace? Janie (Blondie's Journal) gave it to us when they came for a visit. Isn't it pretty? Thanks, Janie and Al. We love it!

I still need a real coffee table. I just moved this little one (part of a 3 piece nesting table) from the bathroom, but it will do for a while.

Now, if I can only convince my hubby that the treadmill is an eye sore, I would be a happy camper, lol. He snuck it into here while I was staying with my daughter for a month in Florida when she had a baby. I managed to move it a little more to the right since I took this picture.

I have had this pewter tray for a while now. I got it on Ebay but I cannot remember for how much.

Isn't this cozy? With this fire, tea set and a place to sit, I am ready for cold winter nights.
