Tirschenreuth Cream Soup Cups

Hi everyone! We just got back from a week's trip to the Western Caribbean. And what a perfect timing for Three or More and 2nd Time Around events. Isn't that lucky? I have missed you all my blogging friends! Please visit Tam at http://gypsycorner.blogspot.com/ and Diane at http://diane1876.blogspot.com/ to check out all of participants' awesome posts.

I will only have one post and I think it qualifies for both events. I would like to share what I found and won on Ebay a few weeks ago, a set of 8 cream soup cups and saucers. The pattern is called "The Shannon". Tirschenreuth dishes were made in Bavaria, Germany and I don't think the company exist anymore. I was surprised on how good the condition of the set is. They are mint, they seem unused and I won the whole set for $12.38 but I paid $21.95 for shipping.
I just love the pattern inside the cups too.

This shows the whole set.
I bought a set of 6 dinner and 6 salad plates below from an antique shop in town a few months ago. They were all that was available so I have been looking for anything to add to the set and I think the cups and saucers will do, don't you think? They are both Tirschenreuths but not in the same pattern but I think they are close enough in looks and color. They even have a similar gold scroll pattern.
Thank you so much for visiting. I am off to check out the other participants and I still have a lot of catching up to do.
Thanks Diane and Tam, for sponsoring these 2 fun events!

I think you did very well Christine, matching up the cups & saucers with the original plates. They look very much alike. I also think there is not much we can do about S & H. If we want something through the mail~that is it! So, to me, you got a great deal!!
