Bird of paradise on Izmir Tray

My friend, Debjani and I, were not feeling too well but weren't really that sick so we decided to just rest and might as well have fun while resting. We did karaoke!

Not a good time to sing for me since I had a raspy voice due to my cold, but that did not stop me. I thought I would get some hot drink to help. And we decided on hot apple cider.

I love this chelsea bird on the teapot. The pattern is Bird of Paradise by Hammersley. I also like the shape. I've had it for a while but never used it till now. I just kept it in the china cabinet. I have the sugar and creamer too but did not need them this time since the apple cider was already sweet.

I made these chocolate bars. My daughter, Tina shared the recipe with me when I stayed with her last Dec. All that is needed to make them are 4 ingredients: saltines, butter, sugar and milk chocolate morsels, my kind of recipe. Email me if you want the recipe.

I think the shape is very graceful.

I am feeling much better now. I am glad we took the time to relax and just take it easy,

I wanted to show you my Villeroy & Boch porcelain tray. I really like the colors and the pattern called Izmir. I am on a hunt for more pieces in this pattern but everything I have seen so far is more than I am willing to pay, so I will keep looking.

Thanks for all your visits!

Yes, I am feeling better, Johanna, thanks! I am not looking for anything in particular but I would love to have more in the Izmir pattern, maybe a cup and saucer and even a coffee pot.

I do not have your email address so I will just leave it here.
here's the recipe.

1 package saltines crackers
2 sticks butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 bag milk chocolate morsels or any other melting chocolate.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Line a cookie sheet with foil
place the crackers on the foil, layer them side by side.
melt the butter and mix the sugar with it.
Pour over the crackers and spread evenly.
Bake for 15 min at 350 degrees.
When done and while still hot, pour the choco morsels on top. The chocolate will soften. Spread evenly on top once it's softened.

Place in the fridge until the bars are hard enough to break into squares.
