Spring is Here! The Bunnies Just Hopped In!

I could not wait for Mitch to take down my Easter bin from the attic so I went up there and took just a few things that I could carry down, enough to create a bunny tablescape. Right now, I am in Florida again (I hope my hubby does not mess the house too much again), for a wedding and of course to see my grand babies, and I uploaded these photos before I left. Oh how I missed all of the babies!

When I do not have too much time in my hands, I create the tablescape on the square table in the breakfast nook. This table used to be in front of the fireplace in the family room where we played Scrabble all the time. Somehow, we stopped doing that.

I used my green Bordallo Pinheiro plates. Actually the green platter that you see in the center is what inspired me to do this table. It has no bunny but has leaves all over. I found it in a store in St. Francisville last Sat. when we toured 4 antebellum houses during their Audubon Pilgrimage. It was 50% off.

Bordallo Pinheiro duck sauce dish

I like the medallions on this silver plated flatware.
I asked John which one he preferred for me to use, the plain green napkins or the polka dotted ones. It is obvious which ones he picked. I have 2 sets of bunny napkin rings, this white ceramics and pewter and I had hubby choose again and the white ones won.

Do you see the bunny name place holders? They are heavy, cast iron, I think and I bought them from Pottery Barn, I think for $5.99 each.

Bunny S & P shakers I bought from Celebration, FL, near Orlando, a long time ago.

The tray under the S & P shakers above actually belong to this majolica gravy boat below.
Tha tablecloth is Butterfly Meadow by Lennox.

I bought this pair of copperish bunnies from TJ Maxx in Monroe, LA after Easter about 2 years ago. I think I only paid >$3 each and they are about 8 inches tall.

Do you see the bunny teapot at the end of the buffet? I just broke it, boohoo! I opened the drawer above it and I did not realize that the bunny ears were in the way and it just came crashing into pieces unto  the brick floor.

Pink and green stemware, I like using that color combo for spring.
Thanks a lot for your visits.

Love your tablescape and your bunnies! So pretty. I have ONE green bunny plate (actually it is a salad plate) I think....I found it at a Thrift store once for 25 cents. It had a small chip on it but I loved it. I have it displayed on an easel right now. But...I would so love to have a set of those plates. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

Oh, Christine...I'm so sorry the bunny got broken! :-( I know that sinking feeling when you suddenly realize that you've just made a wrong move. Everything kind of happens in slow motion, but not slow enough for you to catch the doggone thing! At least you have photos of him for memories! This is a really great tablescape, and I love all the bunny rabbits. Your flatware is absolutely gorgeous!!! The copper-colored rabbits are really cool, too. Very different! I hope you have a good time at the wedding and enjoy being with your grandchildren. Take care, and have a great week!

Sorry for the broken bunny ears, wow, it's been a week of broken dreams, no, things, lol...someone else broke her cloche and my grandgirl just broke the tail of a vintage dog from my collection, boo, boo..I will have a table for TT, tomorrow. This table is so elegant as well as whimsical and fun. I am so sorry you broke your bunny -- I have tone floors, and since I am a klutz as well as having bad eyesight without glasses, I occasionally break something too. I always want to cry.

Hi Christine,

I just LOVE this table!! All your dishes are so pretty, and the serving pieces are wonderful! I'm trying to collect some Bordallo Pinheiro, but it's going rather slowly at the moment. I have to luck up and find them at the Home Goods or T.J. Maxx; somewhere like that. I also love your polka dot napkins and your bunny napkin holders and place card holders. The glasses are lovely and so is the flatware. You truly have some beautiful treasures! :)

Visiting from Pink Saturday -- hope you have a great weekend!

What a charming Easter table with that pretty tablecloth ( I love the dishes in that pattern too). I just broke something too last weekend (glass globes for sconces I had bought to put on the wall in lanai). I guess when you have so many "treasures" accidents are bound to happen. Enjoy Florida! The weather here has been outstanding.

Love all bunnies in all kind. They are so sweet.

You have so adorable treasures that I would love to own. I am loving every piece (same reason as usual) but I really do.

Can glue together the broken pieces? Sayang, but in our tradition, pag-may nabiak daw, you have to throw away na, coz it's bad luck.

Hope you had a great time in Grannylandia and have a great Palm Sunday.

Just coming over to wish you a happy Easter! Love the dishes! I have the salad plates, teapot and platter, but not the plates you have. It's always interesting to see how other people use them. Sorry about your teapot. Home Goods had some cute Easter bunny teapots this year, so maybe it will be fun shopping for a replacement (next year?)! Have fun in FL!
