It's Broadway Time in NY!

If you do not want to miss seeing a lot of beautiful pinks, go to Beverly's site at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/ I know you will enjoy them.
Sightseeing Saturday is also happening every Saturday. You are all invited. If you care to join me and you want to show your sightseeing and travel pictures, please enter your name and permalink at Mr.Linky's. I will have him uploaded at the bottom of this post and I thank you in advance.

One evening, my granddaughter AJ called and asked for Uncle John. I know she wants something when she asks for him instead of me. LOL! She knows she can get anything from him. Anyway, she said Wicked is showing in New York and she wants to see it again. You see, we have watched the broadway, Wicked in Tampa and she really enjoyed it. She could not stop talking about it. She even chose to be Elphaba for Halloween as you can see here below. So naturally, I was asked to make travel arrangements for the 3 of us to go to NY. And here is AJ wearing a Wicked cap. Can't you just see the excitement on her face?
This and the next 2 pictures, actually more below too, are my Pink Saturday contributions. Both AJ and I are wearing pink dresses.
But of course, I take pictures of everything and I never go anywhere without my camera. If you know NY, you know there is a lot of walking to do but luckily, we found a hotel not too far from the theater and Time Square. We were on our way to see the show here.
There she is! You should have seen how happy she was during the show. We were on the second row so she could really see very well and I was enjoying just to see her excitement. She knew all the characters.
We stayed in NY for a few days and toured the city. Here's a horse carriage in Central Park.
My 2 favorite bunnies posing at Central Park Zoo?
We walked through Central Park and boy was I tired! It was really hot too.
And we also watched another broadway show, Tarzan, which was also excellent. AJ's in pink again.
Shopping is always part of our agenda. Do I see another pink there?
And I had to stop to thank NY firemen for their service.
Time Square
Empire State Building

Flatiron Building

We visited the NBC studios.
I thought this was an interesting bar, at least, I think that is what it is.
National Museum of American Indian.
Whoopie! Another pink outfit!
Rockefeller Center
I hope you enjoyed the tour. I will show you more pictures next time from other trips cause we go to NY a lot. Thanks so much for coming along. Now, I would love to see your travel pictures also. Please sign up for Mr. Linky below and I would appreciate you adding the Sightseeing Sat. button on your blog.

Thanks y'all for coming and thanks to Beverly for hosting another fun pinky event.

Oh Christine, I love to see all the pics of your travels. You do take such wonderful pictures. I wish we traveled more, but alas, all of our travels seem to have just been to visit family and friends, and not to anywhere very interesting. Just don't stop showing us your great travel adventures. Hugs, Marty

Hi Christine!!

Was this a recent visit to New York?? I never saw Wicked although I walked by the Cadillac Theatre everyday on my way to work in Chicago when it first came about 6 years ago!! I have such a hard time hearing plays because of my hearing impaiment. Everything echoes.

The pictures are awesome. Even hot, New York has to be better in the summer than the winter~the only time I was ever there. And how often did you wear pink?? lol!! I love the outfit you are wearing with Whoopi!!

I am going to your tablescape now...hope you are doing well. Getting ready for London?? How lucky you are. Meet us in Las Vegas. I am going to be SO bored...

xoxo

It looks like a fun trip. I bet Wicked is a blast to see in person! Those firemen look pretty cute, too bad one of them wasn't available to give you all a tour of the town but it looks like you did pretty well on your own, you saw a lot of things. Have you ever been to Rockefeller Center in the winter or seen their show? I think that would be fun too!
Happy Pink Saturday and have a loveleigh weekend!

My husband and I saw Wicked when we were in New York and enjoyed it very much. We actually had to run about 12 blocks to get there on time but we made it!

Your little granddaughter is beautiful!

Happy Pink Saturday! I was absolutely amazed this summer that NYC (Manhattan) streets seemed so small after living in Texas and Florida for so long. I forgot! Great tour and Wicked is a fave of mine, too. Happy Pink Saturday!

I want to reschedule the home tour from Friday. With the big announcement, it stole the show and I feel really bad for all the work you gals did plus they are all beauties and I know others would enjoy the tours. I think I will do 2 a weeek. I think 3 is maybe too much. I already have this week and the next weeks ready to go but could we do yours on the 23rd. You can just leave it where it is and if that date works for you I will repost you on the
23rd. Let me know.

Really enjoyed touring NYC with you, it brought back great memories of our visit here in March this year.
Haven't seen Wicked yet but my sister raves about it. She saw it in the West End of London last year as part of her big 40 Birthday extravaganze weekend.

Oh...meant to say also that it was great that you all were able to say thankyou to some of the NY firemen! and amongst my hubby's many careers/jobs/occupations...he was an Air Force Crash resuceman/firefighter/space shuttle rescueman, when we met :o)

I will have to find some of those photos of that time...back in the day! (my latest post has a clip of him with some of the kids he has met during his deployments as an Army helicopter pilot doing some relief missions.

Blessings & aloha!
