Playing on My Daughter's Dining Table

I am still with my daughter, SIL and babies and did not really want to miss a Tablescape Thursday entry. So, what's a tablescapaholic got to do? I dug out a few items I bought from shopping before my daughter went into labor, bought a set of placemats and napkins and just rummaged through Tina's cabinets to find dishes and flatware that I could use and this is what I came out with.

Just a simple tablescape for 4. She had no napkin rings so I just folded the napkins.

While in the process of putting stuff together, my older grandson asked, "What you doing, lala?" My daughter joked that it's what she has been wondering all along too. LOL!

Then, my son in law came home from work and asked why we have a bird on the table. Tina answered that it's mom's tablescaping thingy.
All these commotions made me feel like I was a freak. Am I? LOL!
Of course, when I see everybody else's tablescapes, I will feel normal again. So, let's all feel normal, go to Susan's blog at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com and have fun looking at each others table creations.at

Thanks for your visit. I truly enjoyed it. And thanks to Susan for allowing us to play with dishes every Thursday.

What a fun tablescaping story, Christine. I can certainly identify with the need to 'scape, no matter what's going on. I love what you've put together--the napkins are perfect! I'm sending good wishes to you and your daughter!

Hi Christine. The table is simple, yet so pretty. I love how you folded the napkins. My daughter teases me, too, but then gets all excited when its time to set it up. Rosie

Christine, It looks pretty! You have a talent for pulling together a unique tablescape even when you are "shopping" someone else's cupboards. Nice job folding the napkins. I always enjoy visiting your blog - you do SO many things SO very, very well! It's a visual pleasure, Christine.

Christine, I am laughing about your familiy's reaction to you tablescaping! I remember when my family used to react that way. I've done it so much now that they just roll their eyes. This was a new adventure of your daughter and her family. The table looks so cheerful, and the look coordinates so well with her vintage diner signs. You're going to have a hard time saying goodbye to those little ones. Have a safe trip home. laurie

I was folding napkins today for a tablescape and the mail lady came to the door. I had this strange napkin thing in my hand and couldn't put it down. I was trying to explain that I blog, do tablescapes and was folding napkins. She not only looked at me like I was a freak...I know she thought I should get a job!

The table looks darling and I love how it looks with the signs on the walls. Enjoy those little ones!
