Cinco de Mayo Mesa

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

and Happy Mother's Day to all the moms!

I took this picture when we went to Costa Maya.

Let's go to a fiesta!

I was going to post our birthday dinner table but I decided to move it for next week since today is May 5th, and it's just appropriate to do a Cinco de Mayo tablescape, so here it is!

The tablecloth is a blanket throw from Mexico. I bought 4 different colors when I was there.

I thought these plates look very Spanish.

I bought the little sombrero when we went to Cozumel 2 years ago and I wanted to use it last year for my cinco de Mayo tablescape, but I just could not remember where I kept it. I finally found it in our hall bookcase, which has always been in front of my eyes, lol. Oh well, at least it feels like it is still new now. I found these candle holders in various sizes at Goodwill for about $1.99 each. I was going to sell them at the store but I could not part with them. I love them too much.

I used 2 different colors of rooster plate chargers, blue and green. Somehow the green shows like it is yellow in the picture but believe me, it is more of sage green. I have different colors of these chargers, blue, green, red and yellow. Do you think I like them enough?

The flatware handles are genuine turquoise stones.

This is the true color of the green plate chargers.

Thank you so much for your visit again.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who forgets where she hides things, Christine! LOL Your little sombrero is darling! I looked all over for a little piñata ...no luck.

Your blue Mexican tablescape is just stunning! Gorgeous plates & goblets. You MUST keep those candle holders...they go with all your other pieces so well.

The turquoise handles on the flatware is sooooo Southwestern & that spark of yellow that you've thrown in brightens everything.
Beautiful job, as always, Honey!! Well done!

Have a wonderful Mothers' Day & be thankful that your Mom is still alive to celebrate it with you. I sure wish mine way.

Hugs,
Rett

A very pretty and festive table. The blue and white together is one of my favorite combinations - I really like the cobalt blue in the stemware.
Stopped by yesterday and got sidetracked walked away from the computer and came back a while later, started to leave a comment then got sidetracked again. My brain is rattled these days.
Thanks for stopping by and kind comment.
Have a great day.

Your table is so much fun, and of course, the color scheme is very appealing to me as I am a lover of blue and white. It is certainly an unexpected selection and very unique as I usually associate the primary colors with Mexican or Spainish tablescapes. Everything about your table is "perfect" and I am in awe of your flatware!
