A Simple but Elegant Luncheon with Friends and Ma

My favorite day to play is here! Tablescape Thursday is sponsored by none other but Tablescape Diva herself, Susan at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/. You ought to visit her blog and get some tips from her expert tablescaping and then get some tips from her link of all others who are participating.

Yesterday, I invited a few friends to have lunch at the house.
I got these birds from Ross while shopping in Monroe last week. I think they were $5.99 each. They are made by Godinger and Co. Please click on the picture if you want to see more details.

I always want the table ready by the night before so I can concentrate on my cooking the next day.
Black leather plate chargers, solid green dinner plates black salad plates with roses bought from TJ Maxx a while back. Green stemware I've had for years now.

How do you like my pewter bunny napkin ring? I don't know why but I really like pewter. I think it's because it has a vintage look to it. As you can see, the accessory on my black flatware looks like pewter too.
I just won these crystal candle holders from Ebay
It was a perfect day so we had dessert on the porch. Such a relaxing setting, I think. In fact my friends said the sound of the fountain relaxes them so much that they wanted to take a nap. LOL! Another pewter! How do you like my vintage teapot set?
I baked a chiffon cake with mango and peaches which I also added in the butter icing. I served it with instant hot tea made by Whittard of Chelsea. If you have not had this tea, you should try it. I have not served it to anyone yet who did not like it and they always ask me where they can get it from. I bought mine from a mall in San Diego and ordered more from the internet when I ran out. I can't find it anywhere else. They have different flavors and they come in an instant powder. So far I like all the flavors that I have tried. What we had was green tea with summer fruit flavor and extract of ginseng. You can have it hot or cold. They have tea bags also but I haven't tried them. Thanks for visiting and thanks again to Susan for hosting this fun event. I better add the website address of where I order the tea and here it is.

Christine,
Your luncheon tablesetting was just so pretty. I clicked on larger and I fell in love with your candleholders immediately, And I also like your napkin rings. I have such a hard time finding ones I like. Sometimes they are all in a jumble and I only find two or three that match! Any suggestions on where to shop?

Dessert on the porch looks wonderful~I love your china dessert plates & the cake sounds marvelous. I will take your word on the tea but did I miss the website?

Lovely tablescape!!

So many pretty things today. In the first setting, I loved the bunny napkin rings, the table runner and the flatware. I also loved the little bunnies sitting on the high chair in the corner. It was a sweet touch.

In the second one, I LOVED your new tea set. It looked very pretty next to your pretty china. The tea sounds wonderful.

Beautiful job on both tablesettings. (I think you must be an overachiever to have "2" settings in one week. LOL!)

I love the candle sticks you won on ebay! I love pewter anything! Your tables are both so pretty! Love the runner!
Yes, I am near Jackson. How great you have a home on the Swanee River! It was so fun to float down the river. We came to the mouth of a Spring, Hubby and I went swimmig in it the next day. Maybe we will get to meet up soon. Going to try and get Hubby to go to an auction Sat. night. It's not fine items, but some antiques and you just never now what they will have. The bedroom furniture was great, and old tables chairs. Not high priced. Usually about 100 people or so there.
