A Hard Day's Work!

On Wednesdays, lots of bloggers are busy taking outdoor pictures and that includes me. You know why? That's because Susan of http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/ is hosting Outdoor Wednesday and lots of us like to share our outdoor spaces. Thanks to Susan for making that possible so be sure to visit her blog and the blogs of all her participants.Last Monday on Met Mon., I showed you our new gazebo as it was being assembled and how I added all the plants surrounding it. Today, we moved our wrought iron chairs and table in there and I just want to show you how it looks with them. These chairs have been on the front porch but nobody ever sits there so I think they will get better use in the gazebo.
I really like it, do you? You can enlarge to see more details. One of these days, I will try to see if my wireless will reach all the way out there. Wouldn't it be nice and peaceful to blog right out there?
I also showed you on Met Mon. that this was my next project. Tuesday morning at 8 AM, the gardener came and I started working with him until 4 PM. Boy! Was I tired. This was even harder than the gazebo project. There was so much cleaning to do and we are not done yet. See all that mess? Before today, there was no way you could get me in that area because I am terrified of snakes.
Just look at all this mess!
But it's all clean now. We ran out of bricks. Actually the store ran out. We bought everything they had. LOL! I did not realize that we had so much yard there. This settee matches the set that is in the gazebo but it's too much furniture to add it there so it went here. I love the iron swing! Do you think I should paint it or leave it as is?
I think I will enjoy adding more flowering plants and other accessories here.

I hope you enjoyed seeing more of our yard. I never realized how much work there is in a yard. It's non stop but I am enjoying it and sweating so much. Maybe I will finally lose weight.
Thanks Susan, for hosting yet another fun meme and thanks to all for coming by!

Holy cow, it's coming out beautifully, but I can see it was a LoT of work. But, if you hired and paid a gardener, what the heck were you doing out there hacking away at weeds?

It is so obvious what a huge undertaking this project was. You must be so sore by the end of the day. Forget losing weight, Christine, you are going to have muscles!! lol!!

I love everything!! The wrought iron furniture looks perfect in the gazebo. There are so many waterproof cushions and pillows on the market now too, if you are interested in making it more comfy. We have Sunbrella on our patio in a cream color and it always looks clean. I spilled a little Pepsi on a cushion last week and it just sat there, never penetrating! Wow!!

I love the arbor too. What a great job you did. Everything blends with nature so well. I wouldn't paint it. A nice idea would be to put a fire chimney or a small patio bonfire thingie there. That would help with bugs if you are sitting there and would be so pretty at night. Gee, I am decorating your backyard!! lol!!

Just love everything, Christine!!

xoxo

Christine, your hard work is paying off beautifully ~ I love it all.

I favor "rustic" looking, so I'd probably leave it just as it is.

Lovely post! Thank you for sharing all that you've been doing ~ it's so much fun to see it come together.

Christine, I love your new gazebo, I missed your post yesterday for Met Monday, so I'm glad you included in today's post too. It is so interesting. I'm going to have to go back and read that one now. I know how hard it is to clear a setting in the woods. My first house was set in a wooded lot and we had lots of clearing to do - without the help of a gardener - I may add. It was hard work! I like Jane's suggestion of adding a firepit to the area. ~ Robyn

You really work fast Christine :-) I like the blue chairs in the gazebo. Nice contrast of colors. Oh yes, wouldn't it be nice to blog in that area.

I like the bench/swing as is. Somehow the natural color works well with it surroundings - very forest like. oh but that is just me. I'm sure whatever you decide it'll look great - you have an eye for it :-)

I so love your new gazebo Christine! It's a beauty and with your new pool, well wow girl, just gorgeous! Are there lots of snakes by you? My mom is so freaked out by snakes and says she could never live in the south because of that. We have snakes here too but not too many scary ones. Cindy

Everything is looking so so pretty! When you have a vision, you really get out there and get it done!

Here's another part of your home that is calling to me :o) I have to say it again...how fun it would be to live near enough to visit you for a cup of tea... (actually, for you, it is a good thing I don't live near...I wouldnt want to be like Erkel on that old show Family Matters, the annoying neighbor that shows up at any time, all the time! haha)

Very beautiful!
Blessings & Aloha!
