Leaves Everywhere But My Bird of Paradise Bloomed

I originally posted this on November 17, 2009, almost a year ago and our backyard looks so different now.

I am linking with Chari for Sunday Favorites at http://happytodesign.blogspot.com/ and

The Tablescaper for Seasonal Sunday at http://thetablescaper.blogspot.com/
Hop on over to their posts and check them out and their participants'.

This is my 199th post. Can you believe it? I will have a giveaway but I won't know what they are yet except for the pink egg cup on a pedestal set I showed you in my London post. If you leave me a comment on my 200th post which will be Tablescape Thursday, I will enter your name in the drawing.

But for now, let me join Outdoor Wednesday with Susan at http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/. To see more outdoor fun, go visit her and her participants.

It is finally Fall here. Looks like the leaves' colors changed while we were in Europe. Another change was that my Bird of Paradise flower opened up. Isn't she pretty? Please ignore the leaves. I am waiting for the gardener to rake them but he has not shown up, must be busy raking leaves from other yards.

See the squirrel on the tree? I had to really zoom it cause I was taking this picture from inside the house.
The pool and the deck is full of leaves. This is how they look like every morning before we clean them u p.

I love the different earth tones. Do you like my new cloches? I bought them from a local shop that was having a 50% off sale.

And after cleaning, the pool looks good again!

Thanks for coming by. Don't forget to come back tomorrow for my 200th post and to enter for the giveaway.

Thank you Susan, for hosting this outdoor meme.
Thanks to Chari and the tablescaper too.

Fantastic photos of your Bird of Paradise! I have had one in the ground for 3 years and still no blooms... They take their sweet time.. but when they bloom they light up the whole yard! Gorgeous!
Did you see my post about my agave blooming? You might find it interesting since you are a fellow gardener.
Take care there...

Christine:

It seems like a juxtaposition to see the leaves down and the very tropical bird of paradise blooming. Very cool.

LOVE those cloches. The stands are AMAZING!

Thanks so much for being a part of Seasonal Sundays.

Your photos are beautiful. I think a bird of paradise is such a gorgeous flower!!!

I don't know, there's something sad to me about the look of leaves in a pool...it's that saying goodbye to pool season thing, I think.

Have a lovely day,
Patti

Your cloches are too pretty to leave outside...but I bet you have no where to put them inside! :) Takes one to know one. Now that it will get colder I have to find room for the goodies out on the porch! Not to mention my car trunk! LOL

Christine, your garden is lovely and I love the way you decorated for fall weather. Your front porch is soooo adorable. Wish you were my neighbor, you can teach me where to put things.
I look forward to reading/seeing your blog each week and wondered how you find the time to do all that you do. Please share, where do you get all your energy? Wishing you well, Atching Nenette West
