Using What I Won from April Cornell

If you are a follower, you might have read that I recently won a tablescaping contest sponsored by April Cornell. I won the standard category while The Tablescaper won the professional one. The prize was a $100 gift certificate good towards any purchase from April Cornell's store. And so I went shopping. There's nothing more fun than shopping without spending money , don't you agree?
Among other things, I bought this purple and gold table topper. I love the crinkly material and the rich colors.
Do you see the little tray with a handle with purple flowers? I bought it from Queenie's Etsy shop. You can access her shop from her blog at http://queeniesvintagefindsandtreasures.blogspot.com/ . You should visit her if you like to see many beautiful vintage items. I already created the tablescape before I received her package so most of the pictures will not have the tray. I added it later and I think it is perfect there.

I am linking with Susan for Tablescape Thursday. Go see her creativity and her participants by visiting http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/
Isn't the deep amethyst color just so pretty?

My plates really go so well with the tablecloth. I got the napkins from April Cornell's site too, part of my price also. They were out of napkins that matched the tablecloth but I think these will do. I got a tablecloth to also match these, which I can use some other time.

I think the table looks very exotic so I chose to use the "Siam" flatware which adds to more exoticness in my opinion.
I found the plates at TJ Maxx. I only have 6 dinner and salad plates and 2 bowls. It's all they had and I have never seen them anywhere again since. The glass plate chargers are amethyst in color and then I added another layer of slightly smaller gold chargers.

I borrowed the parrot from the living room, the vase with dried flowers from my mom's room and placed it in a bowl with purple flowers.

I pulled the iced tea glasses from the nearby black hutch and added the champagne glasses. It's hard to see but they actually have a pinkish purple band around the rim. Do you see it?

salt cellar with purple and yellow flowers with a "Siam" demitasse spoon..

I love how the sun rays are directed on the flowers. I really love that tray with violet flowers from Queenie.

I took this picture from outside the window. The real color of the tablecloth and plates show better here.
Thanks again for your visits and thanks to Susan for graciously hosting every single week!

Christine, what wonderful treasures on this table! The colors are fabulous. Your new table linens are absolutely perfect with the dishes. I've never seen those at our TJMaxx. (But I was at ours and they still have Polish pottery). You certainly paired everything so beautifully. What a talent you have. I love everything you used. Another perfect setting!

What fantastic colors! Wow, that makes me so happy just seeing the fabulous colors. I love the TJ Maxx plates. I am like you, sometimes I buy them even if they don't have the whole set. It still makes for fun pictures and for smaller dinners. The colors on the dishes are so great too. What a fun prize.
