Our Foyer, I'm Late, but I am on Filipino Time:-)

Rene at http://cottageandvine.blogspot.com/ is having a series of Room by Room monthly parties and today's feature is entries or foyers. I am late but you know I am a Filipino and it is our belief (though I have not practiced that for a while now) that if you come to a party on time, you are early. As a result, we always arrive late. We call it the "Filipino Time".

Better late than never, I am still linking.

This is what you see when you enter the front door. It's funny but I hardly see this since I always enter through the garage.

On the floor is an antique Persian Shiraz tribal rug.

To the left of the foyer is the formal dining room and to the right is the formal living room.

Straight ahead is the family room.

I have a bench on the left wall and on the right is a Buddha fountain, an elephant seat holding a big vase of bamboos and birds of paradise flowers and another pedestal holding a palm. You don't see them here but you will in later photos.

A Sevres musical ladies compote stands on the console. I won her on an estate auction, my very first one. All the while, I thought I was bidding on a chair. Was I ever was surprised when they announced what I just won, lol. Anyway, I fell instantly in love with it so I was glad I won her. I really don't need another chair anyway.

With the compote is a pair of bronze art nouveau candlesticks holder and a turtle bell ringer. I think I saw one just like it on Richard's (Old Historic Home) blog.

On the right side of the console is a pair of Meissen figures, faux fern and a small mirrorred chest.

Across the wall where the console cabinet is, you will see a pedestal table with a Santos angel.

I had this Santos angel and the table in my store booth for a while but I did not want to sell them, so I put a really high tag on them. I just wanted them to decorate the booth. I finally took them home last week. She is quite tall, around 32 inches and I love her.

A Buddha fountain my brother gave me for a Christmas present a long time ago. I love the sound of the water trickling down. It used to sit in the corner where the Santos angel stands now. This is kinda like my Asian and tropical corner.

And you have seen the whole foyer.

Looking back to the front door from the family room entrance, this is what you see.

Thanks for stopping by. I will link this with Marty's Tabletop Tuesday next week also at http://astrollthrulife.blogspot.com/

I am so glad to come back for a visit. Your foyer is beautiful, and I hardly know where to start. First let me say the rug is one I would love to own, it has all my colors and I love the design. The chest is another piece to catch my eye, its perfect for your foyer. Then I fell in love when I saw your Meissen. Those pieces are gorgeous and of course the compote is amazing. You have so many beautiful accessories. I was so happy to take the tour with you.
Hope you are having a great week.

Thank you for visiting and commenting on my unfinished foyer. As for being late to the party, well, you are obviously just fashionable. :) Loved that Santos Angel when I caught a glimpse of her in the first photo. Up close she is even better.

"They" say that a foyer should introduce the flavor of the entire home. Based on what I know of your taste, this foyer definitely does that! It's so elegant and beautiful! Whenever I visit, I'm always drawn in to your details.
